Quad Cites – After a two-year hiatus, the 31st Quad City Air Show returns in 2019 after an overwhelming response from spectators and performers. This year’s Quad City Air Show features the incredible United States Navy Blue Angels on June 29-30, 2019, at the Davenport Municipal Airport.
The Quad City Air Show is a world-class event and an Aerial Salute with the best military and civilian performers in the industry. In addition to the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, you’ll see in the skies the Aeroshell Aerobatic Team, U.S. Navy Leap Frogs, Aerobatic pilot Kirby Chambliss, Red Bull Skydivers, After Shock Jet Truck, U.S. Air Force A-10 Demo, Shetterly Squadron, USAF Heritage Flight, WWII Demonstrations, a first-ever C-17 Globemaster Demo, and more.
What’s going on in the sky is only one piece of the event at the Davenport Municipal Airport, 9230 Harrison St. in Davenport, Iowa. There are military and general airplanes on display giving an opportunity to talk to the pilots, WWII aircrafts and displays, and over 200 ground exhibits with activities. Go for a helicopter ride, try the flight simulator or Army Challenge course, play Kidspace Games, or see the USAF Performance Lab, Army Special Ops Display, and USAF Major Ground Display.
Gates open at 8 a.m. with the main air show going from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
The Quad City Air Show has been selected as one of only 12 sites to host 2019 Navy Week on June 24-30, 2019. Besides the Blue Angels, talks, discussions, opportunity to learn about the world’s greatest Navy, Navy divers as well as the Navy SEALS –Special Parachute Team–LEAPFROGS will perform at the Air Show as well as the Navy’s own ROCK-n-ROLL Band. At 6 p.m. on Saturday, AC/DC tribute band Electric Shock performs.
President and Founder Ken Hopper says, “My goal has always been to highlight aviation, the importance of airports, highlight the greatest military in the world, showcase the rare and important aircraft from WWII, and provide a first-class, family entertainment event.”
Tickets for youth age 6-10 are $10 in advance and $150 at the gate, adult ages 11 and over are $25 in advance and $30 at the gate. Advance Weekend passes can be purchased for adults for $25, children under 3 are free. Parking is also available for $8 in advance and $10 at the gate. Coolers, pets, bikes, scooters, skates/skateboards are not allowed. Wheelchairs and other such devices are allowed.
