LA CROSSE, WI | JANUARY 2, 2019

Local award winning tourism professionals Amy Gabay and Brent Hanifl have started River Travel Media in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

River Travel Media was formed to capitalize on the nationally designated and internationally known Great River Road, 3,000 miles bordering the Mississippi River from Lake Itasca to New Orleans. River Travel Media has roots in the Wisconsin portion of the River Road but will be offering services on both sides of the Mississippi down to northern Illinois in 2019 and plan to expand to the remainder of the road in 2021.

River Travel Media looks at the Great River Road as a known yet undercapitalized region similar to California’s internationally know Napa Valley, the Scenic Byway resides among many other famous road trip destinations around the United States that include the historic Route 66 (Chicago to Santa Monica), Blue Ridge Parkway (Virginia to North Carolina), and the Seward Highway, Alaska.

River Travel Media will be working with the small communities and attractions along the Byway to capitalizes on its notoriety and to drive international and regional visitors to river road communities.
